Philips Hue just released a big bugfix update for its app and Hue Secure cameras, resolving several stability issues and offering a few new capabilities. The Philips Hue App Update, version 5.30, intends to improve user experience while the firm prepares for larger enhancements in the future, such as multi-bridge support and new 24-hour scene possibilities.
Key features of the Philips Hue App Update
- App Improvements: The current app version includes critical bug fixes and stability improvements, resulting in smoother performance for users.
- New Widget Functionality: iPhone users will notice a new option for integrating the Hue Secure camera into a home screen widget. This feature adds a quick-access button to the Hue app that activates the live view, allowing users to engage without having to navigate through many screens.
Firmware Updates for Hue Secure Cameras
In addition to app upgrades, Philips Hue has published firmware version 1.2.26 for its Hue Secure Cameras, which will be distributed at the end of November 2024. However, the availability of these cameras in India remains unknown.
This update centers on:
- Bluetooth Connectivity: Changes have been made to improve Bluetooth connections and address concerns with battery-powered devices that may restart abruptly.
- Motion Detection Improvements: The firmware attempts to eliminate false positives in motion detection caused by lighting conditions, especially during rain or other environmental circumstances.
